How many MAC Whisper of Gilts do I need? The answer is… ALL OF THEM. The 2nd round of the MAC Holiday 2017 collection is out, and the one item I couldn’t live without was the Snow Ball Face Bag in Gold. Why? Because Whisper of Gilt Extra Dimension Skinfinish is back in the form of a SNOWFLAKE.
This set comes in a beautiful sequin makeup bag with a little furry pompom accent on the zipper.
This set also includes a beautiful rose-gold short-handled 140 Special Edition (short) fan brush. The brush is so soft and perfect to drench yourself in the gold shimmer goodness of Whisper of Gilt.
Oh… my…. this is stunning in any format. This year’s WoG release still has the Extra Dimension metallic finish but the powder is pressed into a dazzling snowflake and the compact is a frosted rose gold.
For comparison, here is the Happy Go Dazzingly Face Powder compact from round 1 of the holiday release. They make quite a stunning set, don’t you think?
And a side-by-side of these two beautiful snowflakes. The Face Powder is a subtle shimmer you can use for a slight highlight or an all over glow whereas the Extra Dimension Skinfinish is metallicAF and gives an insane shimmery glow. Check my review of the Face Powder here.
And in case you had forgotten, Whisper of Gilt was part of the dual compacts from the Nutcracker Sweets Holiday 2016 collection. (Yes I am MAC obsessed. Yes I am pretty much an expert. And yes I keep every single LE item from MAC I ever buy).
This year’s WoG is pretty much the same as last year’s, although I found that the 2017 version was a teeny tiny bit warmer?
So for $59.50 CAD this set is probably the best value of all of the MAC Holiday sets. If someone gave this to me as a gift, I would love them forever. (Even though I already have it).
